Alcohol palette

Check It Out!

Peachycheap
OK Guys, You know I am totally addicted to Tim Holtz and he is currently running his 12 Tags of Christmas and if you are into anything altered or stamping you have to check it out. I can't wait every day to see what he's come up for us, but I recently ran across another website. It is ran by Brooke who loves to shop. "What is Peachy Cheap? Peachycheap.com is an online store that sells one scrapbook product at a time at an awesome price." And she has a really great deal each day. But if you check out the whole page you'll see that she also has some really great projects that she does with whatever she's selling that day. This is now another one of my "Dailies". You have to check this site out!

Tim's Tags!

Yes! Tim Holtz is celebrating creativity! Last year he posted 12 tags, one each day, for his 12 tags of Christmas. Well guys, he's doing it again this year and I can't wait! 12 days of new tags and great step by step instructions with full color photos! What more can a girl ask for? But wait it gets better. The names of all the people who leave comments are entered into a random drawing and a lucky Blogget wins a fantastic prize consisting of products used to create the tag AND the tag Tim created which is signed by him. I am so looking forward to the next 12 days! See the link for Tim Holtz over to the right side or click here: Tim Holtz The first tag post December 1st!

Valerie & me at the lighting of the tree

What fun I had Thanksgiving Day. I woke up ready to cook. I only had a few things to make this year. Sarah, one of my two daughters, was making the Macaroni and Cheese casserole, I was making potato salad and baking a carrot cake and bringing the green onions and scallops. We were car pooling to June's home in Lithonia, GA. June is my sister and I love her. She and her daughter Miranda were making the bulk of the dinner. Ken, Miranda's Dad, was bringing the Pumpkin Pie. Sarah arrived at 12 noon and off we went.
Everyone had a wonderful time at June's. We did what families across the country were doing, getting together to eat a dinner full of family favorites, swap stories about the old days, laugh, and give thanks. It was wonderful.
When it was time for Sarah and I to leave, Sarah fixed plates for those who had to work and couldn't be with us. She was dropping a plate off for Allen, my son (June had fixed him a care package that would easily feed a small family) and taking one to her husband Ryan.
I was taking a plate to my other daughter, Valerie. She works at the AMC at Phipp's and was getting off at 5pm. While Sarah was driving home, Miranda took me to the Marta station and showed me how to get my "Breeze" card (since the last time I went we used tokens) and gave me detailed instructions on riding the MARTA train to Lenox Square, which included a transfer at Five Points Station (which I had done before).
Now this may seem like a bit much to make sure my daughter had a Thanksgiving dinner, but the plan was to meet up at Lenox to watch "The Lighting of The Great Tree" at Macy's. This was Valerie's first year working at the Phipp's location of AMC and since she was getting off at 5pm and Lenox is just across the street from where she worked, it was a perfect opportunity to see "The Lighting of The Great Tree". Something we'd never done before except on TV. Riding the train was a way to beat the traffic since I could ride home with Valerie.
It was a short walk from the train to Macy's at Lenox. Unfortunately it was all up hill and I was very winded by the time I got there. Of course I was carrying my heavy winter coat, a plate full of food and my camera bag. But needless to say walking up that hill I had my usual talk with myself about how I just had to start excercising and get in shape because of how ridiculous it was that I couldn't walk up a hill without having to exert myself so. But I made it, found Valerie and we had a wonderful time.

I've been very busy since I last posted in July but I think the real reason I haven't posted is I just like that sparkler picture too much. It is just fun going online and looking at me having so much fun so I decided to post a more recent picture of me having too much fun. So I'll try to keep this a little more up to date.
I usually hit my blog to see which of the blogs I follow have a new post. That's how I keep up with what's new with Tim Holtz (I'm a Big Fan!), Hero Arts and a few other people I get inspiration from. You can see them over to the right. That's my favorite feature of the blog.
Plans have been made for Thanksgiving. I'm going to my sister's house. June lives in Lithonia which is about 45 minutes away for me but not a bad drive for the Holidays compared to the fact that a lot of people have family out of town. None of my brothers or sisters live near by so I don't see them very often. I'm really looking forward to spending the afternoon with my sister and her family.

Sparklers

Originally uploaded by Valerie Reneé
Yes here it is, the second week in July. So much going on. Sarah and Ryan went to a party her friends had to celebrate the 4th of July. From the party they could see the fireworks from the courthouse. Valerie had to work but showed me pictures of her and her friends watching fireworks from their vantage point at break. None were really close but they were high enough they could see a multitude of displays around Lawrenceville. I could see nothing from our house. I could hear them being fired off all around but nothing was close enough or high enough for me to see over the trees. Valerie decided I needed a celebration so when she came home she broke out the sparklers and we went outside in the middle of the night and had our own little mini display. I love America!

Time Flies!

My how time flies! Not that I haven't been on the internet. I just haven't been posting here. Just so you know Hero Arts blog challenge this week is interactive cards, hosted by Jennifer McGuire. Lots of great ideas. Link listed to the right.
Another good contest is by Spellbinders. They're celebrating their new line of dies and giving one away each day.

Tim Holtz February Challenge

I have finally finished my project for the Tim Holtz February Challenge. Well, actually I finished it in one day, I just couldn't find the Distress Crackle Paint anywhere locally so I had to find it online. I usually prefer to be able to pick things up. Read the label. Think about it a while. Put it back on the shelf. Look at all the colors. Pick it up again. Just get to know it before I decide to buy it and take it home. Sure I can look at all the different colors on the web page. I can even click on the different pictures and see a bigger image. Hit the back button. Put it in my shopping cart or remove it but it just isn't the same thing. It's just so 2 dimensional. I like to be able to pick it out, pay for it and bring it home and play. Not click a bunch of buttons type in payment info, shipping addresses and wait, wait, wait for the mail to run. But I finally decided to order online instead of driving 45 minutes or so and burning up gas. And it did come in the mail. And from then on out it was pretty much the same. I got to play with it and I finished my project. The fun thing is I ended up finding a new site to find the paint. It was a site specializing in ATC supplies. She's going to be getting in the new Tim Holtz ATC stamps so I'll probably be ordering from her again. Anyway, click on the title above to see my new ATC cards inspired by Tim's February Challenge and yourATCstore.com

Advantages

"One of the advantages of being disorderly is that one is constantly making exciting discoveries." A. A. Milne

I am a disorderly person. It is really strange because I like to organize things. It is like solving a puzzle. Finding the best way to fit everything together. The only problem is, I tend to make those exciting discoveries and I'm off exploring instead of organizing.
